A fast-paced horror game about trains, a forest, and a lumberjack searching for his head...

You work the night shift at a farm where you take on a set of chores for each of the 3 nights. It is honest work, but the farm has a bit of a history.

A set of train tracks split the land and barricade the farm from a lively forest. The only way to prevent this forest from spreading to the farm is to keep the shrine full on top of doing your chores.

Be careful as staying in the forest for too long can impact your sanity. Many people who have explored these woods reported unnatural activity -from how quickly they got lost, to encountering a man looking for a new head to fit him.

Everyone has a different experience, but one thing stays the same; when a train passes, you do not want to get caught on the other side of the tracks.

This is my first game and it is still undergoing minor development. There are a few bugs that I am aware of but hopefully nothing game-breaking!

The game starts off a bit difficult, but gets easier each night.

My 2nd Part in the new version, operates better than the original, thats a good step in the right direction, I'd say the AI in Night 2 was kinda absurd as another criticism, he camped the fence a lot so I couldn't go into the other side, wasting a lot of time for me, still somehow won after numerous tries

Thank you for giving it another shot! It is annoying that he camps the hole, and even more annoying that it is pure dumb luck that he seems to like that spot a lot. I will definitely see if I can fix the AI to avoid that for future players.

Hello! Just finished the game and I'm wondering, is there more context/lore to the headless man in the game, on his past, how he lost his head, if he's connected to the forest's supernatural properties/caused them/was affected by them etc. Any hidden notes or newspapers that I've missed?

Hi! When I was first started the game, I didn't give it much thought and made it up as I went. It was after I released it (go figure) that I started coming up with ideas if I ever wanted to remaster it and give it a story. While there are a lot of plot holes to work out, the story would be something along the lines of a farmer in debt who has to sell half of his land to the government, which would end up laying down train tracks and split the land between the remaining farm land and the newly bought land that the farmer was forced to sell. The trains would keep him up and night and remind him of his situation (which is why in the game he becomes super-powered when a train passes). The government-owned land becomes overgrown with trees and the farmer only roams within that land. In the game the trees start to spread to the other side (the farm side) and the farmer is eventually able to wander where ever the forest spreads. The shrine prevents the trees from spreading and keeps the farm "pure". I was going to name the farmer "Ernie" and as far as him losing his head goes (literally), I haven't thought of anything yet. If I were to remaster it into a story, I would probably make the head loss either a suicide by train or murder by his brother. There are no hidden notes that I remember and I made everything up on the spot, but thank you for taking an interest! It was fun to think about!

Despite a few plot holes, the story sounds pretty intriguing, including the explanation behind the farmer's powers and the forest's curse, I feel like the game will only become better with the added backstory to the headless guy and the forest. I would suggest delivering it by leaving the farmer's own diary entries, some government land-related documentation, newspaper articles on the whole situation and, perharps, his brother's diary (if you decide to incorporate him into the story). But these are just suggestions.

My Let's Play thus far

Thanks! I look forward to watching it! Also thank you for the tip about the fps! I had no idea that was an issue but hopefully it will prevent some PCs from smoking!

Let me know when it's been fixed/updated, will give it a re-do

The new fix has been uploaded. Settings are a bit janky (still resets itself sometimes when applying) but hopefully the game will run smoother! :)

Awesome! Thank you for playing! :)

Unsure why no comments - I'm going to give a Let's Play but the first thing I really felt I needed to suggest Asap was for you to make it so the games' options has an FPS Locked/Unlock being visible so users can adjust the game to suit their computer ala 60/120/144/240fps ranges. I am assuming the game is 'Unlocked/Unlimited FPS' which destroys computers or makes the GPU overwork. I could be wrong but everytime my GPU is melting from an indie game, I find 90% of the cases, its due to 'Unlimited FPS' being enabled and FPS not being in the hands of the user, please update that if my guess is right.

Thank you for the tip! I will get working on that!
